The Walk Cycle
When we start animating characters, we will need to understand the walk cycle. Please refer to the following link to see the whole tutorial:
Day 36 — Animation
Students are to create their animation today.
Please prepare a folder for Mr Richard to collect. The folder should be labeled ‘yourname blender’ For example, ‘john blender’ Mr Richard will come around and collect your Blender file and animation by 9 December.
Please note that there are some Blender books available for your reference on your computer. Take a look at them, particularily Essential Blender, which describes how to do things with Blender in detail.
Material for the Next Class — Update!
I have changed my mind about using the USB memory sticks as web servers. Instead, we will use the computers in the lab as web servers. It will work out fine, save us fighting viruses and students forgetting their sticks.
Computer Lab
Students are reminded that the computer lab is available for student use every school day in the morning from 7:30 am to 8:00 am, lunch time and after school from 2:45 pm to at least 3:30 pm. Be sure to use the resources available to you at NIS.
Library of Computer Books
Mr Richard has a good library of computer books. All the books are late editions, published this year or last year. They are up-to-date and are excellent titles. There are a number of books particularly on web design. Most of the books are viewable as pdf files. Use Adobe Reader for the clearest experience. You can search for topics or by keywords. All the books are completely searchable.
General topics in the library include books on:
- Photoshop
- SketchUp
- Web Design
- CSS
- MS Office
- Excel Formulas
- Scratch
- Alice
- Python
- XHTML
- Computer Topics
- InDesign
- Blender
- Animation
and more
Soon the library will available on each computer in the lab. In the meantime, students may use the books in the computer lab, hardcopy or ebook versions. Just ask Mr Richard for details.
